Gladness
and 'JOY'
will overtake them, and sorrow

flee away." Today, being Monday, the first busy day of your week, we pray that you get your 'JOY' ON and praise the LORD with us, the whole week long! "Gladness and 'JOY' will overtake them" The CREATOR'S ransomed entering Zion, the place where the LORD dwells, with songs of Praise and Worship with their heads crowned with HIS everlasting 'JOY' are overtaken with HIS "Gladness and 'JOY'. Your 'JOY' comes from the LORD, actually, your 'JOY' is HIS 'JOY'. The 'JOY' of the LORD is not 'sleepy' 'JOY'. The 'JOY' of the LORD overtakes you like a mighty river overflowing it's banks and rushing through the countryside overtaking all objects it comes into contact with. The 'JOY' of the LORD overtakes HIS people, their lives, personal situations like a mighty river, crushing everything and anything in the way of HIS 'JOY' from being released in our lives. Some of the words that best describe the 'JOY' of the LORD have been misused today, and because of that, people have abandoned many words from their daily vocabulary. When speaking of the 'JOY' of the LORD, words like; gaiety and pleasure are more than appropriate. In the lifetime of your Grandparents the most exciting word they would have used to express the experience of the 'JOY' of the LORD would have been; 'gay'. According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, the definition of 'gay' is: a.
happily excited : MERRY This definition is in total contrast to works like; "sedate, solemn, sober, staid, quiet, silent, grave and even - still." You see the truth yet? When many people say; "Oh, I have the 'JOY' of the LORD.", they often have some kind of 'sleepy' 'JOY', a counterfeit to the true 'JOY' of the LORD. You would find it unbearable to live the rest of your life with counterfeit money. How could you buy and sell, have a place to live and feed your family? Would it not be more unbearable to live the rest of our lives with a counterfeit or 'sleepy' 'JOY'? When you have been overtaken by the 'JOY' of the LORD, you can't hold it back anymore than you can stand in the middle of a river bed during a rushing flood and hold back the raging waters. You can't hold back all emotion, all expression or all actions that the true 'JOY' from JESUS brings to you. Today and everyday, live your life in the 'JOY' of the LORD!
